Many of us feel that reading does us good, but is that really the case? And if so, why?
Literature offers more than entertainment, it can also be a useful companion for our emotional and mental well-being. Postdoctoral researcher, Tine Riis Andersen from Nasjonalt lesesenter joins us for a talk about how literature can support our well-being with examples from shared reading.
Shared reading is a communal form of reading where one person leads the group through the text, with breaks making room for reflection and discussion on the text and the experience of reading.
Tine Riis Andersen is postdoctoral researcher at the University of Stavanger. In her PhD project at Nasjonalt Lesesenter at the University of Stavanger and Trnava University in Slovakia, she investigated the experience of reading groups (Shared Reading) for patients as a creative activity with an indirect therapeutic impact.
The talk will be held in English.
